We specialise in accounting services for the non-profit sector!
Most of our clients operate within the non-profit sector. This includes associations and membership-based organisations, foundations, as well as limited companies affiliated with such entities.
Organisations in this sector are often subject to specific requirements regarding how accounts are maintained and how financial information must be reported to annual general meetings, boards, donors, public authorities, and other stakeholders.
We understand that for associations and non-profit organisations it is particularly important that as much funding as possible is directed towards their core purpose. For this reason, we offer reduced rates to clients within this sector.
Accurat
Finance and grants management, risk and compliance services, and accounting

We are a team of thirteen dedicated economists, project managers, and accountants with extensive experience supporting associations, non-profit organisations, and development and humanitarian actors.

In addition to accounting and audit-related services, we have extensive experience in risk management and mitigation, as well as monitoring of projects and international partners.

Our expertise also includes development of procedures, capacity building, budgeting, donor reporting, organisational reviews, and anti-corruption measures.
We have the right experience and are committed to supportorting non-profit clients
If there is one thing everyone at Accurat has in common, it is experience and commitment to the non-profit sector! We have worked with everything from accounting and controlling to partner evaluations and monitoring visits to leading aid projects and programs on behalf of our clients. Several of the organizations we have worked with find it good to collaborate with someone who understands what they are dealing with and who "speaks the same language" as them. The fact that we have encountered most of the issues before also makes our support more effective. Accurat's employees have extensive experience working with local employees and partners abroad and know how to build good collaboration with people regardless of cultural and other differences.

FOLLOW-UP OF PARTNERS ABROAD
We offer follow-up of local partners abroad with a focus on finance, logistics and procurement, anti-corruption and risk management. The work is done by both Norwegian and foreign consultants with extensive experience in aid management. We cover, among other things, due diligence, risk assessment, project monitooring,
and review of partners' financial management. We ensure that they comply with donor requirements.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
We have consultants with solid experience in grant management and development project management who ensure that the different phases of a project and the various partners involved are properly supported. This includes support for digitalisation of project and financial management processes. Donor dialogue, implementation of activities, reporting, digital tools, and risk management: we take care of it.
We can also assist with compliance with the Transparency Act, digitalization projects and more.
REVIEW OF AUDIT REPORTS FROM PARTNERS
Many actors in the development sector work through partner organisations and are required to follow up on and quality assure their reporting. We have developed our own checklists and tools to make this work more efficient, and we would be happy to contribute, either by carrying out the work ourselves, or by coordinating and reviewing your
processes and documentation, or by providing training to the organisation’s own staff. Accurat’s team also includes a qualified auditor with extensive experience in development cooperation.
DONOR REPORTING
Suddenly, the workload intensified. Deadlines were approaching, and multiple inputs often had to be consolidated into a single donor report. We have extensive experience with this process, having done it many times for a wide range of donors, both Norwegian and international.
Everyone has their own requirements and formats that must be followed. Fortunately, it becomes easier once you have done it before.

SETTING UP AND OPERATIONALISING ROUTINES
It can often feel as though there are countless procedures to put in place, but not everything needs to be developed from scratch. This includes procurement and logistics procedures, anti-corruption policies, whistleblowing mechanisms, procedures for foreign exchange management, handling of interest income, revenue recognition principles, risk assessments, partner due diligence and evaluations, and more.
Others need to strengthen and improve the procedures they already have in place, while some require support to operationalise them and train staff and volunteers. We have encountered most situations, understand that needs vary, and can identify solutions tailored to your organisation. Our experienced trainers are skilled at motivating staff to integrate sound procedures into their day-to-day work in a practical and seamless way.
ORGANISATIONAL REVIEW
It is not only partner organisations that may have areas for improvement. Your own organisation may also benefit from a “health check.” To provide relevant and targeted recommendations, we invest time in understanding how you work in practice. We offer a range of approaches and tools
to gain insight, develop a clear risk profile, and provide concrete recommendations and follow-up actions that you can take forward.
ADVISORY SUPPORT FOR BOARDS AND SENIOR MANAGEMENT
Different levels of an organisation require different types of information. Regardless of level, reports must be clear and easy to read, while still providing a solid overview of status and key issues. We can support you in thinking through which
information is most relevant for which audiences, and how it should be presented. A well-designed reporting template streamlines the reporting process and frees up time for other important tasks.
BUDGET MONITORING
In most organisations, budget holders are specialists in their geographic or programmatic areas, but do not necessarily have extensive financial expertise. This makes it particularly important to design reports that are reader-friendly and easy to understand. As a first step,
You need an overview of consumption against budget, but it is also important to be vigilant and be able to assess risk. Contact us if this is an area you need input on. Accurat also offers courses for non-economists with project responsibility (Read more about our courses).
INVESTIGATIONS IN CASE OF SUSPECTED FRAUD / CORRUPTION
Are you concerned that you lack a clear overview of where funds ultimately end up, or unsure how to follow up on a report of irregularities in a warehouse in Nairobi? Our team has extensive experience with special audits and the follow-up of suspected fraud and irregularities. Areas that typically carry higher risk include procurement and logistics, double financing, misuse of bank access, and cash handling.
Donors must be kept continuously informed, whether the issue concerns embezzlement by a trusted employee, inadequate safeguarding of accounting documentation, or an organisation affected by nepotism. It is equally important to maintain clarity and diligence throughout the entire follow-up process, and to document all steps taken and measures implemented.

We also have experience evaluating how Norwegian organisations handle whistleblowing cases and have provided concrete recommendations to strengthen and improve these processes.
INTERIM FINANCE MANAGER/ MANAGEMENT FOR HIRE
We can provide experienced professionals at short notice. Our team’s background across a wide range of roles and organisational contexts enables us to quickly familiarise ourselves with tasks and responsibilities and add value from day one.

THE NORWEGIAN TRANSPARENCY ACT
New routines must be put in place and new guidelines must be embedded in organizations. An annual due diligence assessment must culminate in a report that must be publicly available. We will help you with this process.
TRAINING COURSES
The compliance requirements that aid organizations face are becoming increasingly stringent. Accurat offers a range of courses to support your organization in complying with the requirements in a good way without spending too much time on this work. Read more about our courses here.
